We develop personalised devices that support the natural anatomy of the aorta and valve, providing durable, low-risk alternatives to major root replacement surgery.
Our aim is to protect patients from aortic dilation and dissection, while helping clinicians achieve long-term aortic stability without lifelong anticoagulation.
Exstent’s ExoVasc® device is often implanted at the same time as other heart procedures, such as coronary by-pass, valve surgeries, or less commonly, transposition of the great arteries.
All ExoVasc® devices are built on the same personalised external support principle (PEARS) — preserving natural tissue and valve function while reducing surgical complexity.
ExoVasc® PEARS
The PEARS procedure uses the ExoVasc® personalised external support that fits around the ascending aorta and aortic root. The implant reinforces the patient’s own tissue rather than replacing it, maintaining natural valve function and blood flow. More than 1500 PEARS procedures have been completed across 40+ cardiac centres worldwide, with over two decades of follow-up confirming excellent outcomes and low re-intervention rates. For clinicians, ExoVasc® provides a reproducible, patient-specific solution that can avoid the need for cardiopulmonary bypass and lifelong anticoagulation.
